Manuka Honey Africa

singlemanukeflowerManuka honey has become quite a commodity over the last decade and Manuka Honey Africa has been established as a distributorship to supply this premium, internationally acclaimed honey to the South African market.

Manuka Honey has many health benefits when used for medicinal purposes, both internally and topically on the skin. When taken orally, Manuka Honey is a welcomed alternative to medicine since it tastes better, has no negative side effects and is more effective in most circumstances. Many health stores and medical professionals have found their clients inquiring more and more into this unique product and are continually persuaded to supply this special type of honey. Manuka Honey Africa has been developed to accommodate this demand.

Manuka Honey Africa supplies the highest quality Manuka Honey available from New Zealand, and has recently introduced the Watson and Son 15+ label Manuka Honey to the South African market. Watson and Son take great pride in sourcing and harvesting this special honey from some of the most remote and unpolluted regions of New Zealand. Each batch of Watson and Son Manuka Honey is tested by a certified laboratory using the method developed by Dr Peter Molan at the University of Waikato.

When looking at buying your Manuka Honey, it is also important to take the antibacterial potency into consideration. The potency of the Manuka Honey is certified and classified by the Molan Gold Standard™ ranging from a potency of 0 — 30. Low-grade Manuka Honey doesn’t have any more healing properties than the ordinary honey that you would find in your local shopping stores. Manuka Honey with a certified rating of less than 10 may not have enough antibacterial properties to effectively treat more serious conditions. Likewise, Manuka Honey with an extraordinarily high certified rating is not desirable either as Manuka Honey with a rating of 20 or higher is very rare, extremely expensive and overly potent. The most ideal Manuka Honey is a medium range with a rating of 10–20.
